The Jones Lake RD 20 (#03019–03221) is a +/- 20-acre parcel of timberland located in southeastern Union County about seven miles northeast of Strong, AR and less than a mile west of Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge (North 33.162669°, West 92.248602°). The topography consists of upland hills sloping downwards in a westerly direction. Access is available via woods road running north off Jones Lake Road for about 150 yards to the south line of the tract. Roughly 14 acres were recently planted in 2020 with OP Select Bare-Root Loblolly Pine seedlings. Another 6 acres remain as in a mixture of pine and hardwood along the Horsehead Creek drain. According to the USDA NRCS web soil survey, the soils consists of an assortment of fine sandy loams and silt loams, which give the tract an excellent weighted average site index of 92.0 feet for Loblolly Pine (base age 50).
